Cinderia is a fast-paced Roguelite action game. You play as an “Ash” — someone capable of consuming the embers of dark magic without being corrupted by it — pushing through layer after layer of procedurally generated levels, slowly uncovering the truth behind the world’s collapse.

The game features a top-down real-time action combat system, with core gameplay revolving around flexible buildcrafting. You can freely combine skills, combos, passives, and gear to create your own unique playstyle. The game is currently in Early Access, with content being continuously updated.

What Are Cinderia’s Key Gameplay Features?

4 Characters × 180+ Skill Pool: The game launches with 4 distinct playable characters, each with over 180 skills available to them. This means every character can be played in completely different ways.

130+ Pieces of Equipment: The game includes over 130 equipment items with freely combinable affixes, letting you shape your own builds — quick dagger strikes, close-range cannon combat, ice shield reflect damage — there’s a wide variety of playstyles to explore.

Spell Cards + Ash System: During runs, you’ll find Spell Cards (one-time active skills) and Ash (permanent passive skills) that let you adjust your build on the fly. Different combinations reshape your skill structure and combo flow, resulting in completely different experiences each run.

Room-Based Levels: Levels are room-based, with randomly generated routes each run, including combat rooms, skill rooms, equipment rooms, shops, and boss rooms. Dozens of random events and room types ensure no two runs feel the same.

Keyword-Based Build System: One of Cinderia‘s most distinctive features is its keyword-based build system. Every skill and attack is tagged with attributes like “Slash,” “Fire,” or “Throwing Knife.” When you invest in a specific tag, all skills sharing that tag receive simultaneous bonuses — creating chain synergies across your entire build. This design allows scattered skill fragments to dynamically interact with each other, vastly expanding build possibilities.

Corruption System: High Risk, High Reward

This is one of Cinderia‘s most elegant design choices.

Each character starts with a Corruption cap of 100 points. Every time you acquire a passive skill, its Corruption value is added to your current total. Once the cumulative value hits 100, your character immediately triggers a strong negative status effect (Debuff). If you continue to exceed the cap, you’ll enter a Cursed state, causing your overall power to drop significantly.

The beauty of this system is: on average, about 3 passive skills will trigger 1 curse, requiring players to constantly weigh the trade-off between power and risk. Taking a strong passive might carry significant risk — but the reward is often worth it. This isn’t just a restriction — it’s a choice-based strategy that adds real depth to the decision-making process.

Art Style & Audio

Cinderia uses a 2.5D top-down perspective, blending chibi-style characters with dark, ruined aesthetics. Fallen statues of gods, ash-covered royal cities — the richly detailed environments create a unique sense of fragmented beauty and immersion.

Combat effects are visually impressive, character animations are fluid, and the impact feels satisfying. While characters are presented as 2D sprites, the environments are built with 3D modeling combined with 2D rendering, resulting in a strong sense of visual depth. Players have described the overall art direction as “dark and melancholic, with a powerful depiction of a burning world.”

Early Access & Player Reception

The game entered Steam Early Access on March 30, 2026, priced at $14.99 USD. The developers plan to keep the game in Early Access for about 6-8 months, ideally no more than 2 years. The 1.0 release will add a true ending, expand the story, add new bosses and more content — and the price will increase after Early Access ends.
